Design and characteristics of a novel QZS vibration isolation system with origami-inspired corrector

A new class of quasi-zero-stiffness (QZS) vibration isolation systems, inspired by the origami metamaterial, is proposed to achieve high-performance suppression in this paper. According mechanical characteristics Tachi–Miura (TMO) with single degree-of-freedom, nonlinear geometric relationship developed folding angle as master variable. By utilizing equivalent transformation and virtual work principle, static model established, influence structural parameters on stiffness investigated, negative mechanism revealed. adding a linear spring positive parallel, isolator (TMOriVI) obtained. Subsequently, governing equation presented means harmonic balance method. Two types instability situations, jump phenomenon unbounded response, are studied, their analytic criteria derived. Finally, through parametric analysis comparison existing QZS isolator, effectiveness superiority verified. The system great design flexibility exhibits significant potential field low-frequency isolation.
